Autumn reflections

As the last leaves fall & we're looking forward with great anticipation to our upcoming Thanksgiving celebration, it seems like the perfect time to look back at the busy & beautiful autumn season that we had at the Rochester Inn!  Fall is absolutely my favorite season, & this year did not disappoint.  I only wish that we had more days to spend visiting the pumpkin farm & apple orchard, planting mums, & baking pumpkin spice cookies!

Our family happened upon Spieker's Pumpkin Farm quite by accident several years ago as we were enjoying an afternoon fall drive through the Kettle Moraine area.  It has truly become one of our family's favorite traditions...simple, beautiful surroundings with a picture-perfect barn displaying rustic & elegant wares.  We are so fortunate to enjoy a bountiful selection of apple orchards in Wisconsin, but Nieman Orchards, located down a country road in Cedarburg, feels like 'home' to us.  The orchards are enchanting, the family is incredibly welcoming, & we always feel like we took a step back in time while wandering through the apple barn.
