Innkeepers on holiday

A few weeks ago, my family & I had the pleasure of spending a week in Elkhart Lake, an utterly charming lakeside village located just 15 minutes from our Inn.  This is the fifth year we have spent our summer holiday in Elkhart Lake...what a delightful time we had!  This was, perhaps, our best visit yet.


We lived in our swimsuits & flip-flops, & the most pressing decision we needed to make was whether to spend the afternoon by the pool or at the beach.  We drank frozen lemonade, enjoyed endless amounts of ice cream, & went to bed thoroughly sun-drenched & satisfied each evening!
Gessert's, a classic ice cream & confectionery shop, is one of our absolute favorite places...sipping a root beer float while listening to Frank Sinatra in their beautiful shop is truly my idea of heaven!  My husband & I also took the opportunity to enjoy a sunset cruise on the lake before champagne & dinner at the Paddock Club, which also always tops our list of favorites that we 'must' make a stop at each summer.


We are already dreaming of our next visit...
